My first choice for the Democratic nominee is John Edwards, but Obama is truly inspirational and I will be very glad if he gets the nomination. And I think he can win.

As I said to my friend Kenny, "Hillary is yesterday and Obama is tomorrow."

Until last week I had this discouraging idea that the election would end up being McCain vs Hillary and McCain would win by a extremely slender margin. Obama's recent surge offers new hope.

besides the fact obama is totally unfit for the role of president.. i'm sure it would TOTALLY benefit our country to have someone like that as president.. right.

Nick

Very well-written political opinion piece Matthew. Loved it.

Libby

Matt -- you should read Andrew Sullivan's article on Obama that appeared recently in the Atlantic. Tobin had me read it and it really helped clarify why Obama would be such a good president and helps specify what is really meant by "change." Knowing that it's written by a conservative makes it that much more interesting.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks for that link, Libby. I'm a bit freaked that I agree so whole heartedly with Sulli but he's exactly right.

Philip

Liz, why do you refer to Obama as "unfit"?

Chimene

When it's all said and done, political candidates stand on platforms that their Nat'l Convention Party also stands for. That's why it's real tough to know what kind of president Obama would make b/c he has to work within his own parties beliefs and with Congress, the House, and a whole bunch of other people with differing agendas. He's also gonna owe people favors if he wins. Without fail, every president cannot do what they say they will and sometimes will do the exact opposite of what they originally stood for. That's politics, baby!

Greger

Hello everyone. One of the best rules in conversation is, never to say a thing which any of the company can reasonably wish had been left unsaid.
I am from Barbados and now study English, please tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "These and other low cost airlines have rapidly expanded in the."

THX ;-), Greger.
