After last week's massively delayed "live" blog I figured I better get my ass in gear this week. Then again, last week's episode was comic gold thanks in no small part to My Little Debbie's appearance on the panel and my delayed posting only gave me more opportunity to savor every crazy moment. Has there ever been a better unintentional punchline than "I missed the libretto, darling"? Methinks not. Tonight is sure to be full of intentional punchlines as Ms. Ellen Degeneres is gracing the panel for the first time in the show's history. While it's an inspired--and sure to be entertaining--choice, I can't help but be a bit miffed. Are the producers trying to sabotage my material? It's pretty difficult to make fun of a comedian. Let alone one of the most respected people in Hollywood. Guess I'm back to targeting Mary tonight. Feels like home. Feels like it's time for SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE!!!!
DISCLAIMER: Working without the ability to stop, rewind, pause, etc. so forgive any misquoted material!
8:00- YES. Deeley is back in something shiny this week. Although I could use for it to have at least twice as much fabric draped in weird patterns. Give us SOMETHING to work with, Deeley!
8:01- Ade rules the intros tonight (although Jeanine's balance after her piroutte takes a close second) with a Twitch-ified burst of energy.
8:03- Question of the night: how hard do you think it will be for Mary to keep Nigel, Ellen, AND Mia straight? She is probably 99% convinced that they are all brothers. Or clones.
8:04- Apparently Nigel is now a Doctor. I would like to announce that I am now an Elephant.
8:05- Ellen starts speaking and everyone starts laughing immediately. It's clear that anything that comes out of her mouth is going to prompt laughter tonight. Somebody get Mary's tranquilizer ready.
8:06- Mary: "This year is crazy off the chain." She got this phrase when they finally let her off her own chain earlier today. Nigel's a doctor; Mary's free; it's the dawn of a new time, people!
8:07- Mia corrects Cat by saying it's not two but three Emmy's she's been nominated for. Funny that she fails to mention that she is also nominated for High Times Magazine's Muscle God of the year.
8:08- Mia: "Every week when I create on this show I'm a nervous wreck." And the other weeks....?
