I know I often sound like a broken record, but I really can't get enough of Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet. I've had the opportunity to photograph this astounding company several times over the past year and I'm consistently amazed not only by the athleticism of their dancers, the striking simplicity of their production values, and the diversity of their rep (which highlights a plethora of European choreographers who seldom get a chance to present their work in the US) but especially their brilliant web presence. They are, in my experience, the most welcoming company with regard to bloggers, and one of the companies at the forefront of digital marketing.
This clip is a prime example of all the aforementioned. It's a beautifully shot excerpt from Cristal Pite's breathtaking "Ten Duets on a Theme of Rescue," which I had the chance to see last Winter; it instantly rose into my all-time favorite dance performances. Once was not enough, so I couldn't be happier to get this glimpse that I can watch over and over again. This has whet my appetite for the company's upcoming season at the Joyce. Be sure to grab your tickets today; from what I've seen in rehearsals, it's not to be missed!
